Is Weight Lifting Right for Me?

Author: admin - Categories: Exercise - Tags: ,

Newbie to Weight Training like me need a lot of convincing to start weight training. I am a 200 lbs. Man and I am getting conscious about my body. Being in my middle 20s, I can’t get any girls. Girls can’t even look at me for my jar-like body. I am currently on diet, a healthy one to be exact, and I jog every afternoon after work. But I want to look good, as well as feel good, and I don’t know what to do to get it. I talked to several people about my problem and what they told me is to do a weight training program. They told me doing that would help increase my metabolism, because muscles burn more calories than fat, so I need to get more muscle and get rid of these fats I have. Another benefit of doing the program is to make me stronger, and increase my muscle endurance, and helps in strengthening my bones. It could also help me avoid muscle injuries, improves my coordination and balance, and, increase self confidence and self esteem, in which I really need at this time. I think I can do this. All I should keep in mind is to warm up before starting the lifting, lift and lower the weights at a slow rate, keep your position straight all the time, and most importantly, to breathe. I’m going to start the program in a week, and I hope to get the desired results. Help me hope for the best. Who knows, maybe I might end up influencing you to do the program as well. The two important components of the program are diet and exercises. Its not enough to just exercise with heavy weights, I need to add extra high quality proteins to make my weight loss goals successfull.

If you want to get the most out of your training then you need to be able to track your performance over time. This is essential otherwise you will not know if you are making any progress on your goals. If you are doing cardiovascular style exercises as part of your keep fit program then, you should realise the importance of your heart rate.

Many keep fit fanatics wonder if they are getting the maximum performance out of their workouts. This is important especially if you are trying to lose weight. If you’re running below your average heart rate level then you will not be burning sufficient calories to meet your weight loss goals.

However you can get around this problem by using a heart rate monitor like the Polar F11. Many athletes find these indispensible when it comes to their training as it ensures that they stay within your maximum heart rate level.

How the Owners of Communal Gyms Recoup Their Investments

Author: admin - Categories: Exercise - Tags:

There is no doubt that a lot of money goes into the initiation of a communal gym. There are, typically, premises to be hired (or bought), exercise equipment to be bought, marketing and advertising campaigns to be carried out, instructors and subordinate staff to be paid… and so on.

Yet, considering the relatively small subscription fees typically charged by these communal gyms, many people find themselves wondering how the owners of the gyms ever recoup their investments. Of course, this is also a concern that many people considering going into the physical fitness business find themselves faced with.

So, indeed, how do the owners of communal gyms ever recoup their investments?

Well, to understand how the owners of communal gyms recoup their investments, you have to take into consideration the fact that although the subscription fees they charge are relatively small, they tend to attract huge numbers of members. Thanks to the huge costs associated with the purchase of things like exercise equipment, this is a line of business in which there is little competition. The whole thing is therefore a game of numbers, where what the owners of the communal gyms miss out in terms of margins, they recoup by way of volumes. In the long run, most recoup their investments, and go on to make tidy profits.

Just to Belong

Author: admin - Categories: Exercise - Tags:

Sense of Belongingness is one of the component of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. And you can really see the evident of this. One really looks or searches for somewhere or someone to belong to. May it be a clique, memberships to organizations, gym membership, a club and more.

Being lonely is something nobody wants to be.There are even many people hang around the wrong crowd, enter into a relationship one after another just to have people to be with them. Isn’t that a sad fact. We always hear or read this line, “There are millions of people around the world, yet one can still be alone or lonely.”

This sense of belongingness really is a need that one must fulfill else, one will be miserable. You can see a lot of examples of this around you, and they are not pretty. I guess what we can do about this is not to be carried away too much, it may be a need but it is not the foundation that your very life is standing on.
