The best juicer for the job is one that you feel comfortable using. Many people when they start off with a juicing appliance choose a centrifugal machine. This is what I did myself. Then once you get used to this style of juicing you may want to try out a different style of appliance. But to be honest, I find that the convenience and speed of the centrifugal machines is hard to beat. Even cleaning them after making a juice is not all that hard.

So really, in my opinion, there is not a best juicer that is going to be the same for all people. The idea that we should focus on is trying to get a kitchen appliance that we enjoy using. This will make us more likely to use to to make juices. In the end, this is what matters. The more juices that we make and drink, the better our overall health and life is going to be. Juicing for health is great for our body!

What Are Empty Calories?

You would have heard of the term, empty calories, and what they are? Empty calories is a dietary slang for foods poor in nutrition but yet can provide energy. What sorts of foods would fall into this category? Think of soft drinks, energy drinks, white rice, white bread, sweets, cakes, and most high fat or high carbohydrate foods. These foods provide energy, but little of anything else.

In the past, weight loss thinking often advocated simply limiting eating foods that are empty calories, but today, it is understood that foods need to be dense in nutrients. When we consider calories per day, we need to also remember that foods need to provide nutrition, and nutrition needs to be considered as a whole, or holistically.

Foods should provide a balanced ratio of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and fiber, among other things. You will find that eating a balanced diet is in fact one of the best ways to reduce weight.
