What’s your experience of your online dating service been so far? I’m a member of a couple of services, pays to diversify after all, my profiles are a bit different so I can look for dates depending on what kind of mood I’m in, on one site I might seem rather sultry, on another I might come across as little more innocent, I don’t lie about myself, I’m just reflecting different facets of my personality. It’s kind of naff to lie about yourself anyway, clearly you’ll get found out because when you make yourself absolutely irresistible then there comes a time when you have to meet the guy! If he doesn’t recognise you because you’re so dissimilar from your profile then what have you won? I think there’s a kind of unwritten compact that we’re all mostly honest and up-front and that’s a good thing. Some might say it’s naive to trust what some-one tells you on the web but so long as the majority of us are truthful maybe we’ll encourage the others to be too.
